child safety
last updated: September 30, 2026
bread has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
the short version
- any content or behaviour that sexualises, exploits or endangers a child is banned on bread.
- we remove it, ban the people behind it and report it to the authorities.
- see something? report it from the app (you tab → contact us) or email hello@breadwidget.com.
what’s banned
on bread, you may not post, share, ask for or link to:
- child sexual abuse material (CSAM), including drawn, edited or AI-made images of it;
- any sexual or sexualised content showing a minor, or content that sexualises children in any other way;
- grooming: trying to build trust with a child in order to abuse or exploit them;
- sextortion: threatening a child, or anyone, with intimate images;
- trafficking, or any other content that promotes or helps the abuse or exploitation of children.
this applies to everything on bread: photos, cutouts, text, handwriting and scribbles on a slice, and invite links.
who can use bread
you must be 13 or older to use bread, or older where the law requires it. slices are private: only friends who were invited with a slice’s code can see what’s on it. there’s no public feed, no search for strangers and no direct messages with people you haven’t added.
how to report
if you see anything on bread that could harm a child, tell us right away:
- in the app: open the you tab and tap contact us;
- by email: hello@breadwidget.com.
tell us what you saw and which slice it’s on. please don’t screenshot, save or forward images that may show child abuse. describe them instead. you can leave a slice at any time.
if a child is in immediate danger, contact your local police or emergency number first. in the US you can also report to the NCMEC CyberTipline, and elsewhere to your national hotline through INHOPE.
what we do
- we treat child safety reports first, ahead of anything else.
- we remove the content and end access to bread for the accounts involved.
- we report CSAM and child exploitation to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to the relevant regional and national authorities, as the law requires.
- we keep what the law requires us to keep for the authorities, and we cooperate with law enforcement.
contact
